Meet the Face
Behind the Posts.

Hello there friend! Welcome to the About page where you'll get to learn more about this blog and its purpose, along with the girl who started it. Enjoy!

About the Blog.

Rooted.

Rooted represents trees, and trees represent everything God has been doing in my life. How He’s been furthering His Kingdom in my city and in the lives of my church community and in myself. This blog is one that encourages others in their walk with the Lord and is a testimony to what God is doing.

Scribbles.

Writing, drawing, art. This blog contains a lot of ideas and thoughts written down by an author who is not gifted at writing but scribbles her thoughts down anyway. This blog also has a sizeable amount of art and photography dumps, where I share my artistic side with the world.

Overall, Rooted Scribbles is a place where I let you get a glimpse into my life and how God is working in it. A place where I can share my rambles with the world instead of keeping them in a journal where no one else will read them. It is meant to bring a smile to the face of reader and above all, it is meant to bring glory to God and be a place where His name is magnified.

About the Author.

Hello there! You have probably learned by now that I am Emily Louise a 18-year-old introverted teen who may or may not be a little insane at times. The number one thing I want you to know about me is that I love Jesus with all of my heart. He’s redeemed me from my slavery to sin and to show how grateful I am, I have fully committed my life to loving and glorifying Him with everything I have. I wouldn’t be here without Him. He put me on this earth for a reason. I am chosen and loved, no matter what the world may tell me. I’m fighting to believe that truth every day of my life. God has been gracious enough to walk alongside me in my fight to believe, and He picks me back up every time I stumble and fall. He’s a good and gracious King.

I live in the beautiful state of Ohio, where I inhabit a 5-acre farm with a large family. We have a large number of animals, a pool, pond, barn, walking trail, garden, and trampoline! I share my home with a wonderful family that is pictured on the right somewhere. God also called my family to foster care about four years ago.

I am a recent homeschooled graduate. Homeschooling impacted me a lot and I can greatly relate (as I guess all homeschoolers can) to the song Homeschool Anthem by Shama Mrema. I loved living the homeschooled life, it has greatly shaped me and my walk with the Lord.

I am an ISFJ and 9w2. I don’t believe personality types define anyone, we’re all unique and cannot fit into a specific category. But I do believe that they are useful for learning the basic characteristics of a person. I share personalities with Samwise Gamgee, Meg March, Will Turner, and Captain America. (Oh look at that, they’re all fandoms of mine)

My favorite book of the Bible is the Gospel of John! Some of my favorite Bible verses/passages include Matthew 11:28-30, Ephesians 1, John 1:1-14, Isaiah 40:28-30, Psalm 63, Luke 1:46-50, Ephesians 3:14-21 and John 15.

I’m a bookworm (or we could take a step up and say a bookDRAGON, just because I like dragons… and reading. But mostly dragons). Some of my favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien (you can’t say you like Tolkien and just have read the Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. Anyone care for Beren and Luthien, The Children of Hurin, or The Silmarillion???), C.S. Lewis, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Andrew Peterson and Alan Gratz (Mmhmm, I did just throw in some historical, war fiction. Big World War II nerd over here).

I would say I am a very artistic person. I enjoy drawing with pencils and pens and doing watercolor (you can check out some of my artwork in my Art Gallery). I also really enjoy photography (Photo Album). I'm a dreamer who is constantly imagining stories in my head and then attempting to write them down, but I am not skilled at that (if you can’t already tell by my writing quality).

Some other favorite activities of mine include:

  • Listening to music (I could include a long list of my favorite songs and artists but instead, I’ll give you my Spotify account to save you from a long read)

  • Shopping (Garage sales and thrift stores babyyyyyyy)

  • Watching movies: *ahem* Lord of the Rings nerd alert. I watched it for the first time 4 years ago, and I may or may not have watched all three movies 8 times since then (and that number will be continually growing)

  • Hammocking

  • Daydreaming

  • Enjoying the outdoors

  • Watching The Chosen (Best. TV. Show. Ever.)

  • Pen paling

  • Cuddling my Lionhead rabbits, Tauriel (yes, I may or may not have named her after the elf from The Hobbit movies) and Samwise (yes, I did name him after the character from Lord of the Rings XD)

  • Running around with my two goats, Ivy and Kate

Here’s a list of a variety of random things that hold a special place in my heart (maybe not that serious, just the small things I enjoy that I couldn’t write a whole paragraph about)

  • Mint flavored things

  • Watching football (Browns, Chiefs, and Buckeyes fan)

  • Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and England

  • Accents (specifically ones located in the above countries)

  • The smell of rain, freshly mowed grass, and baby soap (please, just... don’t ask)

  • Marvel

  • A beautiful, sunny day

  • Orchestra music

  • The Wingfeather Saga

  • Sleepovers

  • Pandas, puffins, pufferfish, tigers, goats, bulldogs, and Highland cows

  • Singing and dancing with my siblings

  • The colors blue, gray, and yellow

  • The worlds of Middle-Earth and Narnia

  • Playing piano

  • Eating ice cream

  • Curly hair

  • Grape flavored things

  • Sunflowers

  • Memes

  • Lord of the Rings (Have I mentioned that? I don’t think I have… *smiles*)

If you read all of that, you deserve an award of some kind.

Well there, I did it. I wrote, most likely, the longest bio ever. *pats herself on the back for making this bio shorter than her last one* This marks the end of a rant about the life of moi. Hope you enjoyed this sadly short(ER) summary of the existence of a girl who lives on the same earth you do!

Till next time friend!
